2021-10-21T09:39:43-07:00

Trial Shows Holloway Original Dihydrate Outperforms Anhydrite Alternative During the 2019 season, Holloway’s agronomy team conducted a Gypsum trial on a customer almond orchard to test the amount of plant-available calcium from various forms and amounts of Gypsum. This test plot consisted of a 77-acre block of almonds divided into five sections, each consisting of a dozen rows of mature, full-producing trees. The trial showed Holloway Original Dihydrate Gypsum maintained or improved calcium tissue levels, outperforming Anhydrite alternative that saw decreased calcium as season progressed.

2021-10-06T17:01:39-07:00

Highlighting the Benefits of Whole Orchard Recycling on California Clean Air Day (Oct. 6, 2021) – On Clean Air Day here in Calif. we highlight the benefits of our Whole Orchard Recycling (WOR) service, removing old, unproductive orchards and grinding the trees – rather than burning the material – for soil incorporation. It can also help improve production in tandem with the right amendment/nutrients plan. A decade-long study by the UC Cooperative Extension concluded that orchards undergoing WOR [...]

2021-09-23T14:09:35-07:00

Harvest season is winding down, which means it’s time to exhale, kick up your feet and take a vacation, right? Think again. Harvest season is the most stressful time of year on our crops, whether you’re shaking trees and vines, or wrapping up another round of alfalfa or tomato harvest. Our soils are depleted come September, lacking moisture and barren of critical nutrients that support soil health and a homogenous rootzone. Now’s the time to get in, get soil samples and see what amendments are needed to breathe life back into your soils heading into next year. Our agronomist team [...]
