Meet Your Partners in Growth: Allie Cushnyr, Senior Agronomist

BAKERSFIELD – Allie Cushnyr Agronomist Holloway Holloway is excited to welcome Allie Cushnyr as the agriculture division’s Senior Agronomist.

Allie comes to Holloway from Wonderful Laboratories, where she was a field representative for the area’s premier lab for outside growers, consultants and partner companies looking to analyze soil, plant tissue, hulls, irrigation water, fertilizers, and pathology samples.

Also, a Director at the Kern County Farm Bureau, and Vice President at Kern County’s California Association of Pest Control Advisers (Kern CAPCA), Allie leverages her vast agriculture network, and field and lab experience, as the head of Holloway’s Custom Agronomy Program for Central Valley and Central Coast growers in California.

“I’m excited about joining the Holloway family and know the sky is the limit with our agronomy program,” Allie said. “I consider how soil sampling has historically been done and innovate with my team and partners to ask, can we do it better or different?”

As part of Holloway’s agronomy program, Allie’s team will be in charge of providing growers with:

  • Soil sampling and analysis

  • Tissue sampling and analysis

  • Water sampling and analysis

  • Nitrogen management plans

  • Aerial imagery, insights into crop health, stress and potential soil issues

  • Custom agronomical soil amendment plans

  • Custom fertility plans

  • Historical lab reports

  • Field assessments

  • Field trials and studies

  • On-call availability for soil/water/tissue issues

“Holloway will provide the most robust custom agronomy packages on the market,” Allie said. “The goal of our program being: utilizing science and over 90 years of experience to put soils first and make sure we optimize soil and crop health for the short and long term.”

Allie said she looks forward to working hand-in-hand with growers throughout California.

Along with growing up and working in agriculture in the Central Valley, she has also lived on the Central Coast and worked with coastal growers while attending Cal Poly and looks forward to working with both permanent and row crop operations alike.

“I always want to do right by them … the grower is number one.” Allie said. “The values of these farmers match my own. Going down this career path just felt right..”
